Family English programs
We are currently looking to recruit a team of conversation assistants to assistant in class rooms in Catalunia, Spain in January 2010. This is a government funded project and Annalivia School is recruiting the assistants in conjunction with Home 2 Home in Barcelona.

Successful applicants will spend 6 months in an infant, primary or secondary school in Spain helping children to practise their speaking and listening skills during the day. The conversational assistant will bepresent in the school from Monday to Friday lunchtime in correspondence to the school timetable.
      

Accommodation
The conversational assisant will be accommodated in a single room with a local Host family (who's children are in the same school)

Spanish Classes
Successfull applicants will be provided with occasional face to face Spanish classes as well as on-going online classes.

Insurance
All conversational assistants will be fully insured and assistance will be provided to apply for a social security number and bank account

Payment
Successful applicants will be paid € 150 per month.

Obligations of the Conversational Assistant
• Attend an interview and selection process in Britain.
• Attend the school and participate in the activities and timetable previously designed by your school to the best of your ability with an acceptable behavior.
• Comply with the rules and social habits of your host family – meal times/cleanliness/punctuality.
• Remember you will have a tutor assigned by the college to look after you during your stay in Spain as well as various meetings with our Home to Home representatives.
• In the case of not wanting to continue with the programme for any reason both the school and Home to home and Annalivia School, will have to be informed in writing of the reason for which a meeting will be held between the three parties involved.
• To follow an on-line course in Castilian Spanish which will include a tutorial by phone every Friday and a monthly meeting with your on-line teacher.
• Open a bank account in Spain as soon as you arrive (with the help of your tutor). This will serve as the account where you will receive your monthly subvention.
You will receive a quantity of 150 euros a month in the form of a grant (all your other expenses in Spain are covered) which will be paid directly into your Spanish bank account.
• You will have to organize your flight to Spain to arrive at least the day before (the price of the flight will be paid for by the student) you start school.
• The school will finish on 23rd June from which date you will have to arrange your own travel back to England or around Spain.
• Foreign Identification Number (N.I.E)
This is a Spanish social security number which we will obtain for you when you arrive. (We will need a photocopy of your passport.)
• You will need to obtain in Ireland a European social security card which will give you medical cover once you are here in Spain.
• Inform Home to Home and Annalivia School of any problem that may occur between the school and the CA or the CA and the host family (in which case a meeting of all three will be held and in which Home to home will have the final decision on the problem and what measures need to be taken).
• Meet every two weeks with Home to home to assess and discuss the development of the CA.
• Speak their native language at all times in their school.
